LIVING THE ORDAINED LIFE THROUGH THE SPIRIT

TEXT:      Ephesians 2:10, Romans 8:14-19

M.V:         Phil 2:13

FOCUS:    To explore the dispensation of the realm of the spirit.

OBJ:        For students to understand that living a predestined Life can be achieved only through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Introduction: Before the foundation of the world, God has predestined us to live in a particular way. Gen 1:26-28, But after the fall of Adam, man lost that predestined life. God’s plan (in 1 Pet. 4:6) and desire has always been to restore us back. Joel 2:28-29. Have you imagined what Christianity would be without the Holy Spirit? Some people might complain and even be scared.

However, many Christians today live like they do not have the Holy Spirit. That was why John had to write to the Church for them to be sure of the life that was working in them. 1 John 5:13. Certain Principles of the kingdom do not function unless knowledge and that you got to be conscious of it and act like that. That’s what faith is in Rom. 1:17b.

Outline 1: The Supremacy of the Holy Spirit

The truth is that the Holy Spirit is God. He is the third person in the trinity and has always been there from creation Gen 1:2, 1 John 5:7, we should not see him less than God and He also desire that worship.

He is God reigning in us in this dispensation 1 Cor. 3:16. The totality given to us in the Holy Spirit. Eph. 2:18-19. The full purpose of an inheritance and the ordained life is achieved through our relationship in the Holy Spirit. Eph. 1:13-14

Outline 2: Characteristics of the ordained life and the help of the Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:26-28)

Ø Spiritual resemblance in our maker. 1 Cor. 6:11, 1 Pet. 1:2a

Ø Character resemblance in our maker. Gal 5:22

Ø The mandate to dominate. 1 John 4:4

Ø Being unique. 2 Cor. 3: 18, Acts 6:10

Ø A carrier of God’s blessing. Acts 2, Romans 8: 15-17

Ø Fruitfulness. Eph. 5:9, Acts 2:4

Ø Being a multiplier. Rom. 15:19

Ø A replenisher or strengthen. Eph. 3:16

Ø A master (subduing the earth) Acts 8:39

Outline 3: Steps to grow in the spirit.

Ø Study the word and meditate on it. Eph. 6:17b

Ø Pray in the Spirit. Joel 20, Eph. 6:15

Ø Fellowship in brethren. Acts 4:31

Ø Practicalise the word. James 1:22

Ø Be obedient to the Holy Spirit.

Conclusion: Eph. 4:30, James 4:13

    The Holy Spirit dwells in us, so that we can close to the father, know this plan and will for man and live according to that plan and will but we should try not to teach the Holy Spirit but yield and obey his kleading. (Eph. 4:30)

LIVING A LIFE OF PURPOSE: OUR PURPOSE

Purpose is the creators’ pre-destined value for a creation. Your purpose lies with its creator. (Psalm 139:13) The life that was planned was a life of color, style, glory, beauty, dominion and free from sin. In Jer. 1:5, Gen. 1:26. (It actually takes an appointment for there to be an appointed) There is a distinct call and purpose for every man’s life. Kit can only be realized and fulfilled by walking hand in hand with the spirit. The predestined life is the ordained life and is the only thing that can give you ultimate satisfaction in life.

        Never forget we are in the dispensation of the reign of the spirit (John 16:7). The hour is now. He is the personality that makes your Christian life a reality and a man and a woman of effective functioning. (Rom. 8:14) “For those that are led by the spirit are sons of God.” To them that believe in Jesus Christ, He gave the power to become sons of God (2 Cor. 5:15). Forget the past because it doesn’t matter, emulate Paul.

Reader!!! Do you know the purpose for your creation, I guess you’ve tried it all, singing, writing, business, preaching, teaching. We really need help!! But we have help!!!

But we’ve got to believe, ask and receive. The Holy Spirit helps you realize yourself because He knows you more than you know yourself. He is the revealer and teacher (John 5:26)

        Stop!!! Desperate men and women listen to what the Spirit saying. I once knew a girl whose life was void of discovery. She was ignorant of so many things and was perching. She went into state of depression, and she couldn’t see God’s light. She became violent and always wished she was someone else with a different sex, so she could be powerful and change. I used to be this girl. The person of the Holy Spirit began to open up to see myself in the mirror of God’s word. Oh! “I don’t need anyone to tell me, I am special, of a distinct value and for a purpose”.

I really appreciate my friendship with the Holy Spirit, He is my friend, my senior partner, my able Helper, He is not a thing or an “it”. He is a personality. Finally friend, you are no photocopy so “don’t be a copycat” go get a copyright. The word that I speak to you they are Spirit and they are life. And now Acts 20:22.

“RECEIVE YE THE HOLY SPIRIT,” AS YOU LIVE THE ORDAINED LIFE BY HIM.

        Christianity is all about living a life that is beyond limitations like failure, sickness, poverty, fear etc.

1 John 5:13, John had to write to the church for them to be sure of the life that was working in them.

        There is a life that is above Col 3:1-2, you can live there. There is what Christianity is all about.

DOES YOUR LIFE QUESTION THE EXISTENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IN YOU?

        Certain principles of the kingdom do not function with knowledge and consciousness. It is not enough to know but you have got to be conscious of it and act like that. That’s what faith is. Rom. 1:17b.

I cannot begin to tell how difficult it was for us to carry out this decision even in the face of mockery and scorn, to stick to doing what will please our God- the God our fathers served more than what will earn our limited favor before our earthly master – the king.

Now in the second year of my service to the king, the king had a powerful dream. Not only was the dream difficult, to interpret – the funny thing that happened was that the king had forgotten his dream!!! Imagine! So serious was this impossible task that mere failure to execute it lead to death without trial. As a result of this my friends and I had a strange visit from Arioch the king’s general commandant.

When I enquired of the reason for such strange visit, he told me. I feared for my life and that of my friends.

Uttering an immediate and silent prayer to God most high, I set off to the palace. Then again my God never failed me for I found favor before the king and a little time was given us. On reaching home, I called my friends and urged them to intercede for me so that we all won’t be wanted. That night the DIVINE REVEALER OF SECRETS AND MYSTRIES favored me once more - for not only did I know what the dream the king had, I also knew the interpretation thereof. The next day I told the king.

After the king heard all these things he acknowledged the supremacy of the most high. To the envy of all my contemporaries and to the delight of my friends, God used him to elevate me so that not only did I because the ruler of the province, I also became the ruler, the chief of all his wise men. Out of humility I suggested the appointment of my friends to such administrative positions while I remained in the king’s court which was granted me.

But something happened to my friends later. The king built a statue so high that its height is best explained in mathematical terms. It was also made with gold. The king sent messages that this god must be worshipped by all. We all heard the message but unknown to us – my friends and I, some ‘spies’ were monitoring us to see if we would truly worship this god. These guys know of our faith in God and tried to use this against us. So they plotted.

On a set day, a musical was played which signaled the religious rites to be obeyed. My friends and I refused to bow to it and my friends were picked. They reported this supposed ‘insubordination’ to the king who ordered them to the [palace. He heard their case and decided to give them second chance but they refused. Like them, I know if I lost them it was to the glory of God…

Good morning my people, how una dey? I know say na better reply dey follow this question. Hope say una sleep well because I know say the exam fever still dey deal with some people. You wey dey read this article hope say you know dey among them.

        Well today na another ogbonge Sunday wey get enough follow come. School of Impact day na today oh!!! So na for us to prepare well put ear for ground so that the fit impact upon your life.

        Last week Sunday wey be brothers day carry enough follow come because from the opening prayer to the praise and worship not to talk of the choir ministration chai!!! I gree big-time say them truly be carriers of God’s power. The messages reach everybody well because them no use microphone but I hear them well. I pray say them continue carry God power and next year go better pass this year.

        This week na another one as many people start exams last week, mean say na small small time dey use pass. This new week go mark the end of this month February and na to march forward be the next thing. We pray say March go better pass February.

        As well all know, the one and only chairman wey be chancellor  of this institution show we school last week Wednesday and he no smile because as usual enough yarns follow show as always. I no go lie hunger nearly finish me that day but I thank God say I still dey alive. From the look of things e be like say him don bounce. We thank God say no bad news follow us last week and we pray say even this week bad news no go follow us.

        Na here we go take finish our yarn for this week until we come una way again next week; we wish una success for una exams and happy new month in advance. From the OPC we say God loves you and we care.

BUILDING A HEALTHY SELF-ESTEEM…

        

You think you are too fat and that makes you unhappy? You think you are not beautiful? You are too short? Or, you are not just good enough? The truth is you are what says you are! In Psalm 139:14, the bible makes us understand that we are wonderfully made by God. God loves and appreciates you the way you are.

        Christians need to work on their self-esteem. In this life, there will always be people that are better than you and people that are lesser than you. Appreciate yourself for who you are. You are the son and daughter of a king. There is something about you that makes you different from others. Discover that gift inside. People will only see you the way you see yourself.

        Never get knocked down or intimidated by what people say about you. You are unique and special. There can never be another you in this world. Any other person is a photocopy. Be an original copy of yourself and stop imitating other people. Think big, dream big and act big.

        Be proud and confident of yourself, you may not be a model but you're a brainiac in academics. You may not be a good speaker, but you are a good writer. There is something about you that is worth being appreciated.

So put a smile on your face, no matter the situation. Don’t forget, the beauty of a girls face is not her make up but her smile.

Rekindling Your Fire in His Presence

Text: Luke 12:42-49

Memory Verse: Luke 3:16

To rekindle is to start up again or light up again, so before there was a kindling in the life of a man but man lost and now Jesus Christ came back to rekindle us in Him.

Our fire here connotes our zeal; passion for Christ, fire is used for praying, burning, etc. It is also used as a weapon for destruction; it has always been from the beginning of the world.

We are now saying rekindling your fire in His presence starting up again with your spirit man connected to God only through His Presence.

You can be a Christian but you need rekindling. Why? It is because you are lukewarm. Revelation 3:15-16. And you need the fire so that you can sustain it. Know that God’s fire is in Zion and we are all on mount today. Isaiah 31:9. Stay blessed and enjoy a new relationship with God.

 Why must we rekindle the fire?

1.     It is a refiner. It purges and purifies. Isaiah 4:4; Malachi 3 :2-3

2.    It will be used for judgement. Isaiah 66:5

3.    So that you will not face rejection. Revelation 3:15-16

4.    So you would be able to enjoy all the benefits of being a son of God.

How can I rekindle my fire?

1.     Through constant study of the word. Jeremiah 20:9b

2.    Desire strongly for the fire. Matthew 5:6

3.    Always stay connected with the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3:16

4.    Be addicted to God’s presence because that is where the fire is. Isaiah 31:9

What does the fire achieve in our life?

1.     It brings about answers to prayer. Zachariah 13:9

2.    It brings about God’s acknowledgement. Zachariah 13:9

3.    It brings about boldness to speak God’s word. Acts 2:14

4.    It leads to salvation on the last day. I Corinthians 3:3-15

Conclusion

Every Christian needs always to rekindle the fire daily and if you are not born again, you need to be, so as to have the fire in you. As a Christian, God has made you a minister which means you need to be an embodiment of fire. Psalm 104:4. God loves.

Rekindling Your Fire in His Presence

When we say rekindling your fire in His presence, we have to understand what fire we are rekindling and in whose presence. When we talk of the fire, we do not mean the fire used in cooking but we mean the fire of God in us. Can you remember the first you gave your life to God; the passion; the passion; the zeal of being in His presence? That is the fire.

As a Christian, you must have the fire in you because when you have the fire of God in you, the enemy cannot take you unawares. The presence is not just any presence but it has to do with being in the presence of God.

Remember in the presence of God there is fullness of Joy; so my brothers and sisters in the Lord, this is the time to rekindle your fire in God’s presence, so you will not get burnt in the devil’s presence. So stays connected and always rekindle your fire when it seems to be getting down or dull by praising God, praying/ asking for forgiveness and living a righteousness life.

How to Rekindle Your Fire for Prayer

Using ‘TRUSTS’ as an acronym here are the few things I learned about rekindling my fire for prayer:

T-Thanksgiving: Almost always, when I sense that the fire has gone out and my passion has waned it is because I stopped being faithful and grateful, stopped thinking God for the blessing I enjoy. When we focus too much on what we do not have and what God is not giving us at the moment, we lose sought of the fact that God as ever good to us and will not forsake us. Start today by thanking for everything you would miss tomorrow if you woke and it was not there. Give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

R-Repentance: Another fire quenches is sin and selfish attitudes. Scripture says that his kindness leads us to repentance. When you have spent some time thanking God, conviction returns to your soul. Take the next step and dare to say. “Search me O God, and know my heart, test me and know my anxious thoughts see if there is any offensive way and lead me in your ever casting way (Psalm 139)

U-Understanding: Often times when you feel your flame flickering and not burning brightly. It is because we have approached God only for what he can do for us and not for whom he is. A sure way to fan our spiritual life is to seek him for all He is worth. Bring your request before Him but then lay them down at His feet and seek to know His Heart. Proverbs 9:10

S-Stand: When we do not feel God’s presence and when His promises do not exactly feel true. It is great to stand on the word of God because it is true. When I find myself feeling more earth bound than heavenly bound I rise up, walk around my house and proclaim the promises of God written over my life.

T-Trust: Here we are back at trust again. When I lose perspective on life, I have somewhere along the line stopped trusting God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6.

S-Surrender: Another thing I have noticed is that surrender and spiritual passion are closely linked. When I find myself hanging on to my own understanding or when I rely more heavily on my fears than I do in God’s faithfulness and it seems like throwing a wet blanket on my spiritual flame. What is my answer? I get on my knees, open my hand and I surrender everything to the Lord once again.

Finally I bet you, taken a bold step of TRUSTS now and you shall be rekindled. God loves you.

QUALITIES OF THOSE WHO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

God’s will for each one of us is to make differences on earth. Whoever you are, where ever you are and whatever you do you can make a difference. God created each one of us in His image and likeness, yet each one is different, each one is unique. Each one is original.

To be different is to differ as to be unlike some body or something else. However, it is one thing to be different but it is a totally different thing to make a difference. The Bible records that Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps because an excellent spirit was found in him and therefore he was set over the whole realm. Everyone is different but not everyone will make a difference! Everyone has a purpose but not everyone will fulfil their purpose.

We would make a difference however only if we would be ready to pay the price! The price to pay is outlines in the qualities of those who made the difference. Some of those qualities include.

-          They are courageous. Psalm 23:4; 56:3, Esther 4:16

-          They are confident 1 John 4:4, Acts 27:23, 3:6

-          They are selfless. Revelation 12:11, Acts 20:24, Hebrews12:1

-          They are consonant (never an Island to themselves) Esther 4:16; Daniel 1:11-15.

Those who make a difference must learn to put their faith in the unseen God and his ability to help them. They must learn to stay focused and committed to their goats and maintaining a positive attitude.

EXPERIENCING GOD’S PRESENCE

The presence of God is a serene and Holy Place. Coming into presence of God you have to be Holy and free from sin, reconciled with the father and rekindled your fire in His presence for His divine restoration.

I thought giving me to God was it all, though I have heard about rekindling your fire in God’s presence. I felt so special when God showed me His purpose for my life which was revelation, entering another realm of the world to help others. I was so scared of seeing myself sometimes in strange places.

Day by day scriptural life dropped, I stopped praying, fellowshipping and relating with God because I was scared of the gift He gave to me. I thought running away was the solution. I fell completely from God’s presence, only then did my father make me realise that without Him there is no me. My results dropped, I lost all my friends, my parents were no longer sending me enough money, no more divine favours like before.

Then one night, I knelt down before God, crying and seeking answers. My lover who is the Holy Spirit told me that I had lost my position in heaven I cried and asked for forgiveness asking God for open doors then He reminded me of the gift He gave to me which I ignored. But did my father forgive me? Yes, He did because He is ever merciful. But the question is Did He restore the gift He gave to me?

As Christians in His vineyard, we should rekindle our fire in His presence daily for us to work diligently in His house in line with fulfilling God’s purpose. Never respect a gift given to you by God because He will never give you something too much for you or abandon you. When you ask God for a fresh fire and a renewal of heart Psalm 51:10. He will immediately sanctify you and restore your lost glory and even adding more.

If you have not rekindled your fire in God’s presence then it is not too late because 2 Corinthian 12:9 say, “My Grace is sufficient for you and my strength is made perfect in thy weakness.” START NOW TO RECONCILE WITH GOD.

When you rekindle your fire in God’s presence your fire will keep on burning in His presence. How can this be done?

Through determination, you have to be determined within you. This determination will bring out the zeal and passion in you which will bring out the zeal and passion in you which will make you not to be happy about your present status or situation with God.

When you are determined in life to be zealous for Christ, to change or to more from your present situation to a higher level in the spiritual realm, the Holy Spirit will be called upon and He will help you. If you are not determined to call upon Him to help you, He cannot help you. God sees your heart before He moves closer to you so be determined and focused.

Some people lose their passion for God. Suddenly, through a crisis or a major or a crisis or a major crisis or a major life change. Others lose their enthusiasm gradually. They simply spend less time on spiritual pursuits. Eventually, their lives hardly differ from non-believers. Does this describe you? Is so, now, how can you rekindle your spiritual flame?

-Remember your desperate need for God: One of the quickest routes to regaining spiritual fervour is through a tragedy that disrupts life. But you do not have to wait for adversity to strike. Remember how dependent you are on the Lord physically, spiritually and materially. Physically, no human can sustain his or her life for a single second without God. Heart attacks, car accidents and other trials reveal our frailty. The next time you hear about a tragedy, thank God for sustaining your life.

-Prayer changes the natural. James 5:17-18

-Prayer Impacts knowledge (wisdom). James 1:5

-Prayer brings peace. Philippians 4:5-7

-Prayer guards against temptation. Matthew 26:41

-Prayer reveals God’s Answer. Luke 11: 9-10

The strongest action that you can take in any situation is to go down on your knees and ask God for help. Whatever is worth worrying about is certainly worth praying about.

I am gradually falling into the world’s standard

Yet nobody really seem to know what is happening

My disobedience and sins have made me fall

No more power to rule the flesh and dominate the world

Will I be completely lost and be a cast out?

How can I go on with this your mission without a passion?

The desire; FIRE TO WORK; I have been assigned:

“Come to me and you will find rest,” I hear him answer

But I see myself still wallowing in that same sin.

“Let your heart be all that matters for now, insist, persist and always pray to him because he is right beside you.”

Hear Him speak

He looked deep into my heart,

And began to rescue me,

Out of His Help and My Choice,

I gradually studied, fellowship and got committed

His word grew faster and manifested

Till I felt the complete Joy of being in His Presence again

Indeed, what a relief to “REKINDLE MY FIRE IN HIS PRESENCE”

Message behind the Song

In the Awesome Presence of God, everything good and perfect that we desire from God is available as long as we open our hearts to God and worship Him in truth and in spirit. As we come into this presence with the prepared hearts to receive from them, He is ready to baptise us with the Holy Spirit, Fill us with his fire and zeal and also to break every chain/ obstacle in the way of our service or any other area of our lives.

...After all these things had happened the King had a dream and here it is;

“I saw a large tree in the midst of the earth and its height thereof was great. The tree grew very tall and strong, reaching into the heavens for the world to see. It had fresh green leaves and it was loaded with fruit for all to eat. Wild animals lived in its shade and birds rested in its branches.

Then as I lay there dreaming, I saw a watcher from heaven. The watcher shouted “Cut down the tree and chop off its branches! Shake off its leaves and scatter its fruit, chase the wild animals from its shade and the birds from its branches but leave the stem and the roots in the ground bound of iron and bronze and surrounded by tender grass. And let it be wet with dew from heaven and let his heart be changed from man’s and let a beast’s heart be given to him and let seven times pass over him.

For this has been decreed by the watchers and the demand by the word of the holy ones to the intent that the living may know that the MOST HIGH RULES in the kingdom of men and gives it to anyone he chooses-even to the lowliest people.”

This dream I King Nebuchadnezzar had seen. Now tell me what it means for one of the wise men of my kingdom can do so...

A life without my father’s direction is just as if I am working alone All my life have never had any on that really cared for me and how I feel. I did things on my own. I did not have any friend to talk to or share my problems with. I felt dejected, rejected, and not cared for, left alone and always unhappy. To couple with that, my dad left us to suffer all alone without anyone caring for us except my mother. My uncles did not give us breathing space because they felt daddy left lots of money for us. But God used my strong mother to fight for us although they tried in different ways to kill me, my brother and my mother. But they did not succeed. I hated everyone around me. I was always scared to trust anyone or even go close to people. But ever since I met my sweetest friend, companion, father and saviour, my life changed and was transformed for good. Although the devil tried in different ways to bring back memories of my past to way me down but God took control of it. I am happy to be born anew in Christ because I do not know where I would have been without the grace of God upon me and my family. I thank God for he has made me what I am today. This is my testimony. This is my testimony always depend on God the author and finisher of your faith because he will surely see you true in every circumstances you think you are passing through. Remember I am not telling this short story for you guys to pity or feel sorry for me. But I am telling it for you to know that no situation is too big for God to handle.
