The Lady

verse: Ruth 3:11
Introduction: The question is, who is a lady and how
can such a lady be an ambassador for Christ? a lady is a woman of class, polite
and of a well mannered and refined demeanour, thus, a lady ambassador for
Christ is that proper lady who is equally posses class but the class she
displays is not of conformity with the standards of the world but that of the
one who bought her with a price and made her a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, peculiar woman and a holy nation. Christ is the master of her life
and so by her speech, thinking, action, and demeanour she reflects a woman who
is a proper lady and am ambassador for Christ and so she bears fruit.
Outline: Aspects where the Christian woman can
be an ambassador for Christ are explained in the following points.
1.
Talk
like a lady: there is
nothing appealing about fowl or flirty language coming out of a woman’s mouth,
the lady’s words should be seasoned with salt and full of grace to edify the
listener, gossiping, nagging, blackmailing etc should be far from the lady,
Ephesians 5:14.
2.
Walk
like a lady: 2 john 2, admonishing
a lady ambassador to walk in love, and then you walk in love when you live in
obedience to God’s commandments. The lady ambassador must be always found
representing God in all things, that’s how she is spotted. E.g., Rachael,
Ephesians 5:2.
3.
Sit
like a lady: psalm 1:1
“sitting on the seat of the scornful” she shouldn’t be found among people who
speak ill of the things of God and of God himself e.g. “haters”
4.
Dress
like a lady: she is to
look smart and beautiful but no seductive (proverbs 31:22b). Indeed God looks
at the heart but man looks at the appearance, she is not to lead men into sin
or lust by her appearance (Romans 14:12) be smart, look good but never let it
become idolatry, most importantly as Paul advised in 1 peter 3:4. Fashionable
dresses may dazzle some of your peers, but clothes do not win hearts or make real
friends that are accomplished by dressing up the “inner-man”. Working on the
person you are inside (2 Corinthians 14:16). A person who is inwardly beautiful
will always be attractive to others even if his or her clothes are not with
designer labels.
5.
Act
like a lady: have you
stopped to consider how you act when people are around you. Are you loud?
Boisterous? Pushy? Kind or are you considered a temperate? As Christian ladies
we should be transformed in Christ, the word of God should be the manual of her
life. Ephesians 4:22-24.
6.
Think
like a lady:
conclusively, it’s until you think like a lady, you will then be able to sit,
talk and act like one. You have to keep your heart and mind focused on Christ
in order to be the lady ambassador for Christ that you should be. A lady
ambassador guards her hearts with all diligence for out of it comes the issues
of life and she can be transformed by the renewing of her mind. 2 Corinthians
10:5, Philippians 4:8

The art of praying is for “mean
and diligent men”. This art cannot be consolidated in the Christian life. It depicts
and lives the phrase “yours sincerity”. It’s not all about ‘Jesus started with prayer
and ended with prayer’ it’s the life force, and life blood of the being of
every Christian.
As a result, a Christian is the sum total of
how much and how well he prays. A preacher or teacher is effective if in his
prayer he labours to bring God’s presence to his people.
One cannot truly explain the beautiful act and
experience of praying because it’s so personal that it involves the three
entities of man and his personality as a whole. But on the other hand, I think
I may do justice to it satisfactorily
Most times while praying, I labour, and
whenever I am done praying I am so exhausted, yet having this feeling of divine
power at work in me. Its labouring because it’s like you’ve done a principal
activity but this is actually in the spirit.
Then at other times, it’s like I
am having a deep and intimate talk with a very close friend who knows me more
than I do know myself. Its here I get to dismay whatever emotions necessary at that
moment.
I may go on and on to state the different
prayers, explaining the various ways of praying, state the various effects and
reasons for praying but one thing I cannot do is to teach you how to pray. For
this you have a better teacher who is none other than the Holy Spirit. For he
helps our infirmities for we know not what we should pray for as we ought to
pray but the spirit itself makes intercession for us with groaning which cannot
be uttered. He is the spirit of truth that will lead us into all truth.
Brethren, before you say a word in prayer,
invite him to say that prayer through you and you will live to tell of its
effects
Thanks and god be with you
Note: to our beautiful sisters
coordinators and to the females in generally; have a good day to you all on
this day.
We love you OPC
Oh God! I am a
failure
So
many times we fail and get depressed and do again those same things for which
we fail for. After failing we like our first parents blame others and the
environment.
Now God is not unfaithful to forget our work
and labour of love neither is He one to let his promise go unfulfilled. The reason
why we fail is that we either believe that God is a magician, or we limit power
over us even though he has proven his faithfulness to us or we think he does
not understand nor love us. In most cases he tells us what to do but we but we
prefer our ways to his all knowing ways, or we don’t just say connected to
“THE-SOURCE”.
All hope is not lost in this season of
clearance, exam and many different and difficult challenges. We should learn to
look up to him the, the author and finisher of our faith. We should learn to
set our priorities right, giving to ceaser what belongs to ceaser and to God
what belongs to God. We should learn to be diligent in our business and studies
and above all stay connected to the vine.
Now the problem is not that we fail, it lies
in the fact that we do not get up. It lies in the fact that we live in denial
and at worst the devil helps us to think up a lie that God will never accept us
back, so we continue to wallow in pity.
This should not be the case cause like David
and unlike Saul; we should always get back to him each time we fail or fall.
Another reason we fail is that we do not trust in the MAN we serve. To this he
says that “without faith it’s impossible to please God and that which is not
faith” or then again we lose self esteem or confidence in ourselves or
abilities for which he says hasn’t given us the spirit of fear... but of love,
power and a SOUND MIND. That again we forget to ask from the father of lights
who has no shadow of turning or variableness in him.
Finally
brethren that we have the spirit to teach us all things, lets also bear in mind
that he says in Eph: 3, 20.”... That he is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think according to the POWER AT WORK IN US. Let’s
activate that power in this period of expectation.
Thanks
and God bless OPC
A TRUE STORY
As
I walked to exit ground, I finally saw the much talked about result oh God! I
had an F. I felt weak instantly. I could not believe
it. I had fasted for the exam and was
even fasting on the day I was writing the exam. I know what I wrote, and I know
that I had read very well for the exam.
With faith, I prayed that the result would
change there on the board. Each time I passed exit ground, I checked my reg
number to know if the result had changed there on the board. But it was still
the same F. I felt very frustrated. I felt
like God had disappointed me.
Nevertheless, I sat up and read
my books and prayed as usual. The God of restoration just has his own way of
compensating those who continue to depend on him. Just last semester, I had one
of the best results ever, I have never has such A’s on my departmental courses
than I did last semester. I was filled with too much joy. I am sure of this one
thing; you think God has failed you? Trust him alone this time “it is not by
your power or might, but by his spirit”.
Forget about exam malpractice,
sit down and read your books. The God that made me smile will make you jump for
joy in Jesus name. Amen.

I AM- BY KIRK FRANKLIN
How do
you do? I am a sinner
Born
into sin and shaped into iniquity
Now a
believer, not who I was
But
still not what I shall be
You
found me and gave me your name and
Things
I desire have changed but
Inside
you’ll see its still broken pieces
Deep
in me reaches for you
How do
you do? I am a beggar
Desperate
for more, I hunger for your truth
See I
am shattered
Though
I may fail, still you make all things new
You
speak, the storm obeys and
Gone
is the weight of mistakes and
Though
I still feel u continue to heal
Look
close and see
Chorus:
I am
so far from perfect
I
thought life was worthless
Until
you showed me who I am
Not
here by mistake, no luck only grace
I'm on
my way to who I am
VERSE
2:
How do
you do? I am a sinner
I’ve
lost a few and life’s knocked me to my knees
And
now I'm standing
Not by
my power but your life inside of me
Even
though seasons and changes
No
tear has ever been wasted
This
under system, it worked for my good
Look
now and see
Bridge
(chorus):
How
and I'm closer, praise now is stronger
Stood
up to fear, by faith I'm still here
Couldn’t
walk away, God said not today
Because
eyes haven’t seen, what God has for me
The
trust and the lies
Through
the pain, through the right
I
cried and said
But
still I survived.
MESSAGE BEHIND SONG
We all as Christians have a purpose, a reason
why we are here. But we miss out on it sometimes because of iniquity and sin,
other times because we allow our will to stand in the way of Gods will for our
lives.
We suffer a lot undeserved because we do not
know who we are. We do thing and perform bellow expectation, we fail at times all
because we do not know who we are in God. What we need to know is that we are
here by God’s grace, and not by some
coincidence or mishap. as long as we know who we are, and that it’s not by our
power but GOD’S SPIRIT, we can walk
in the light of this truth and operate at higher levels and in the end achieve
perfection.

HAS FAILURE GONE TOO FAR?
What do you see failure as?
Failure is lack of success in doing or
achieving something. The single most important difference between a successful
person or a champion and a failure is the ability to handle rejection and
failure you can’t travel the road to success without a picture or two.
Mistakes are often the best teacher. Solomon
in ecclesiastics advised us that in day of prosperity be joyful, but in days of
adversity consider. Whenever you fall, pick something up. The man who invented
the eraser had the human race pretty figured out “the mistake riddled in life
is much richer, more interesting and more stimulating than the life that has
never risked or taken a stand on anything”
Having
a carryover does not mean the end of the world, it simply means ‘sit up!’
.There is no gain in having a carryover but, it’s a loss you can regain when
you decide and make up your mind.
Exam is hand, how do u prepare? Do you study
from day one or do you study when exam is around the corner or do you study
when the timetable is out or do you study a day to the exam? You might notice
the term ‘study’ is used here not read. This is in line with Joshua 1:2 & timothy 2: 15. To
study is to have indebt knowledge about something than to read.
To achieve success this exam, four things are
necessary and they are:
·
Eat well
·
Sleep well
·
Pray well
·
Study well
Only
then will success be yours. I hereby wish you all success in your exam.
Amen

FEAR, THE FIRST STEP TO FAILURE
Hello my blessed people of God, greetings to you all!!!
Today is another day that the lord has made possible and congratulations
on your success over the night and the passed day into another day as you must
have realised
Yes! We all love success so much and when w achieve it we always have
heroic tales to tell of the journey, and of course dread failure, a horrible
experience, but most times, we find ourselves in that terrible situation failure, one that has a tale and story
about how it happened also.
It always starts with a four
lettered word fear, a feeling of
agitation and anxiety caused by the presence or imminence of danger, but in
this case “the fear of failure”, an amazing and really interesting first step
to actual failure. Think of it as failures forerunner, the same way john the
Baptist in the bible was the saviour’s forerunner.
Now our fear here becomes a phobia of our
inability (self induced or planted in us by others) to achieve our goals in
life generally. That can be induced by our own inability to picture ourselves
winning at whatever we do, or to see God’s bright potential in us, resulting in
a low self esteem, or planted in us by societal or peer group pressure as well
as general discouragement from others.
The fear of failure is an
emotion capable of robbing us of our destiny, let’s take for instance, Moses,
he was so afraid of failing because he had speaking issues among other moral
issues (killing an Egyptian), he lost confidence in himself and God. He was so
afraid of failure that Gods signs were almost not enough and he almost turned
down his role as a man of God, leader, and the man who received the
commandments directly from God and many more. Have you as a student ever felt
so incompetent, unprepared or so discouraged as to a test or examination that
you almost think it futile to even attempt it? When this happens and all the
chips are down and all the zeal and morale towards that course is gone, it
becomes difficult to study or prepare properly for it, you must surely be
prepared to fail then. So it’s more important than I can possibly emphasise
important that we never lose confidence in ourselves and our heavenly father’s
power to move mountains.
Some may say that fear might be
a life saving experience or emotion prompting us to act to save ourselves, or
as students the fear of failure academically prompting us to read and prepare
ourselves properly, but when fear becomes the captain of our life’s ship, a
crash is imminent. Yes, fear is a normal emotion, but as Christians, being new
creatures, fear is not in our nature as God has given us a spirit of power,
love, and sound mind (2 timothy 1:7) thus, it is important that we transform
mental processes towards positive and confident thoughts and take care as to
what we let people tell us and most importantly trust God.
In conclusion, we ought not to
be compelled to succeed by the fear of failure but by our desire to achieve for
ourselves causing us to fight, build, and study and then write to our success
in exams, cause as is written in my bible and I know is in yours “a little
sleep, a little slumber and poverty (failure) will come upon you like a thief
in the night” (proverbs 24:33-34). But I know that is most definitely not the
fate of the lord’s own people.
Amen!!!
