SCHOOL OF IMPACT DAY 2014

THEME: AN AVAILABLE VESSEL

TEXT; 2TIM 2:19-21; 2TIM 2: 3-7; EZEKIEL22:30

M/V: ISAIAH 6:8

FOCUS:  Understanding God’s earnest desire for an available vessel

Objective: For the church to understand the essence of availability. To let them know that being a vessel of honor or dishonor is their choice.

Lesson

A vessel is anything that is possessive or inhabitable and can be used to take something eg; a key, a waste bin, a can, etc. they are all vessels but they can either be used for honor or dishonor, but in this context, God is talking about a human vessel, someone he can use to fulfill his purpose or plans. When we say that an available vessel is God’s utmost desire, it simply means that all God needs from us is our availability. God is desperate foe vessels to send to all walks of life to fulfill his purpose, God is looking for hearts that will pant after him.( Ps 42:1).

Outline 1: WHY GOD WANTS YOU

God doesn’t search for a perfect man, he searches for the imperfect of which he can make perfect through grace. God knows that we are mere dust (Ps 103:14) but he is ready to cleanse us for the perfect work ahead of us, if only we make our selves available like Paul and Moses who had imperfect lives but the right heart and were ready. Therefore God called them and made them what he desired.

Outline 2: how can I be available?

1. You have to be born again (Rom 8:29).

2. You have to let God trim you to size (Ps78:71-72).

3. Always have the right heart to serve (Ps 51:17, 78:71-72).

4. Discipline yourself constantly (Prov25:28).

Outline 3: example of men and women who made their selves available.

1. Jesus Christ

2. Gideon

3. Isaiah

4. Moses

5. Paul

CONCLUSION

There is so much work to be done but only those who are available shall be used, make yourself available for him today and see him use you…

ARE YOU AN AVAILABLE VESSEL?

------ Like soldiers, we have to give up the world security and endure rigorous discipline. We keep going because of the thought of victory.

------ Like athletes, we must train hard and follow the rules, although it requires focus, we keep running because we see our vision of winning.

------ Like farmers, we must work extremely hard and be patient because of the hope of harvest.

Now are you ready to purge yourself and make yourself and make yourself available for the master’s use? You might say it entails a lot but the blessings and reward that comes with it is beyond your imaginations…

PEARLS OF WISDOM (The promise of God from the Bible)

You say: it’s impossible

God says: All things are possible (Luke 18:27)

You say:

I’m tired

God says: I will give you rest (mattew 11:28-30)

You say: Nobody really loves me

God says: I love you (john 3:16, 3:34)

You say: I can’t go on

God says: The grace is sufficient for you (2cor 12:9, psalm 91:15)

You say; I can’t figure it out

God says: I will direct your steps (prov3:5-6)

You say: I can’t do it

God says: you can do all things (Phil 4:13)

You say: I’m not able

God says: I’m able (2cor 9:8)

You say: It’s not worth it

God says: it will be worth it (Rom 8:28)

You say: I can’t forgive myself

God says: I forgive you (1john 9:1, Rom 8:1)

You say: I can’t manage

God says: I will supply all your needs (phil4:19)

You say; I’m afraid

God says: I have not given you the spirit of fear (2tim 1:7)

You say: I’m always irritated and frustrated

God says: cast your worries upon me (2peters 5:17)

You say: I’m not smart enough

God says: I give you wisdom (1cor 1:30)

You say: I feel alone

God says: I will never leave or forsake you (Hebrew13:5)

Don’t think negatively, don’t give upon yourself and don’t give up on God because he won’t give up on you….. HE IS ABLE.

For a moment, take a pause from the present and actively try to vividly imagine what the world would be like if Jesus hadn’t died for our sins, if he had not submitted to God’s perfect will. We are vessels made by God but how available have we been? Do you see yourself as unworthy to fulfill God’s will? Are you scared of your imperfections? Remember it is not by power or by might but by the spirit of God (zach4:6). His Grace is sufficient to see you through (2corinth12:9). Believe it, for he will make you complete in every good work to do hiss will (heb13:21). The harvest is plenty but the laborers are few (rom9:37). Today, make a decision to be an available vessel just like Isaiah (isa6:8) did.

Make a decision and join foundation school every Sunday…

                                                                                                God bless S O I
